Would you like to become a field volunteer with the PBI Mexico team?
PBI is recruiting new field volunteers to join our Mexico team. In Mexico, we work to protect and support human rights defenders at risk, contributing to safer spaces for peace and justice.
Through protective accompaniment, international observation and advocacy, PBI helps ensure that defenders can continue their vital work free from threats and intimidation.
As a field volunteer, you will live and work as part of a small, international team for 12 months, building meaningful relationships with human rights defenders and civil society organisations while contributing to collective protection strategies.
What are we looking for in volunteers?
We are looking for people who:
- are fluent in Spanish;
- have experience with grassroots organisations, NGOs, or social movements;
- can commit to 12 months in the field;
- are non-partisan, non-violent, and value consensus decision-making.
It was a pivotal experience for me, to work and live for 12 months alongside the members of my team to form connections with and learn from human rights defenders directly. - Former PBI Guatemala volunteer
